Arıklı expressed that with the opening of the new Ercan Airport terminal and runway, the TRNC has the potential to become a significant player in the field of civil aviation in its region.

Despite all challenges, he noted that Ercan Airport and the Ercan Advisory Airspace have become a safe port and transit point providing services at international standards.

Highlighting the importance of all stakeholders continuing to work with the same dedication to realize the existing potential in civil aviation in the TRNC, Arıklı emphasized, “In line with our policy of a two-state solution in Cyprus, if we want to be recognized by the international community and compete with them, it is our duty to maintain and further develop the standards achieved in civil aviation.”
