Minister of Public Works and Transportation, Erhan Arıklı, has announced that ongoing road construction projects across the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) are expected to ease traffic congestion significantly.
Speaking to the Cyprus Turkish News Agency (TAK), Arıklı highlighted several key developments, including the anticipated completion of the cloverleaf intersection at the Gönyeli Roundabout by April 2024.
The cloverleaf intersection, which will ease traffic flow in the area, is part of the ongoing Northern Highway project.
Speaking to TAK, Public Works and Transportation Minister Erhan Arıklı confirmed that the winning construction company, which previously worked on roads for the Presidential and the Parliamentary Complex, has now shifted its focus to the Northern Highway project after completing work within the complex.
Arıklı also provided updates on the progress of the roadworks, noting that important components for the new bridge at the cloverleaf intersection are being manufactured in Türkiye.
He emphasized that the Northern Highway and the intersection projects are on track to be completed by April 2025, with significant improvements in traffic flow expected once finished.
