Ataoğlu attends commemoration ceremony in Baku

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu attended the commemoration ceremony held at Atatürk Park in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan to mark the 85th anniversary of the passing of the great Turkish leader Mustafa Keman Atatürk.

Ataoğlu is in Baku to attend the 7th Meeting of the Ministers of Youth and Sports of the Organization of Turkic States.

Turkish Ambassador to Baku Cahit Bağcı, Armed Forces Attaché Brigadier General Soner Oruçoğlu, TRNC Baku Representative Ambassador Ufuk Tuğrana, embassy staff, businessmen operating in Azerbaijan, lecturers, representatives of non-governmental organizations and students all attended the ceremony.

The ceremony started with the TRNC Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu and Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Baku Cahit Bağcı laying a wreath at Atatürk’s statue.

The flag at the embassy was lowered to half-mast and a minute of silence was observed, followed by the National Anthem.

Following the ceremony, Ataoğlu, together with Ambassador of Türkiye to Baku, visited the Atatürk Painting Exhibition opened in the Embassy building within the scope of the activities commemorating Atatürk on November 10.
