Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu met with the Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy in Ankara, the capital of Türkiye.

During the meeting, Türkiye’s continued support for the tourism sector in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus was emphasized.

The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Ambassador to Ankara İsmet Korukoğlu and Undersecretary of the Deputy Prime Ministry’s Office, Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Serhan Aktunç were also present during the meeting.

Issues pertaining to the development of alternative tourism activities, diversification of promotional and marketing activities and the creation of new brand destinations were discussed.

Making a statement regarding his meeting with Ersoy, Deputy Prime Minister Ataoğlu underlined that Türkiye unconditionally stands by the TRNC in tourism as it does in all fields.

“Our goal is common. All our efforts are for TRNC tourism to reach the place it deserves,” said Ataoğlu.

Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy for his part said, “It is our common desire to promote the TRNC’s cultural heritage to the world by taking the share it deserves in tourism.”
