A Syrian national who carried out the attack was arrested.
Bayraktar Mosque in South Lefkoşa was attacked by a Syrian person on Sunday, January 19.
The Evkaf Director General Prof. Dr. Mustafa Tümer made a statement to BRT regarding the issue and stated that the attacker was a Syrian and carried out the incident while under the influence of drugs.
Tümer stated that after the incident, the necessary complaints were made to the Greek Cypriot police and the attacker was arrested.
He added that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also been informed about the issue.
