Minister of Finance Özdemir Berova on Thursday received the head of the Azerbaijan Cyprus Friendship Society Orhan Hasanoğlu.

Berova emphasized that Türkiye, Azerbaijan and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus are one nation, three states.

According to a statement made by the Ministry, Minister Berova pointed to the importance of Azerbaijan for the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and said “Türkiye, Azerbaijan and TRNC are one nation, three states.”

Also pointing to the importance of developing relations with Azerbaijani Turks, Berova stated that it would be extremely useful to establish contact with Azerbaijani investors who will come to the TRNC and pave the way for investment in the country.

The head of the Azerbaijan Cyprus Friendship Society Orhan Hasanoğlu for his part noted that more than a thousand Azerbaijanis reside in the TRNC and take part in working life in many sectors, especially in education and tourism.

Hasanoğlu pointed out that since the TRNC became an observer member of the Organization of Turkic States, the interest of Azerbaijani business people in the TRNC has increased.
