The Barrier-Free Living House and Rehabilitation Center, designed for disabled individuals, was opened for service by Prime Minister Ünal Üstel with a ceremony on Wednesday.
Speaking at the opening of the Barrier-Free Living House, Prime Minister Üstel said that they will continue to keep their promise to the people and complete all unfinished projects.

Located on an 18-acre land, 88 people will receive training and services throughout the day during the first phase.
The residential part of the facility will be opened in 2025.
The first phase is designed as physical therapy rooms, a rehabilitation centre where special education, psycho-education, art and education activities will be carried out, an administrative building and a living space for disabled individuals over the age of 18 with a capacity of 28 beds.
During the second phase of the Barrier-Free Living House, which will be put into service early next year, services will also be provided to disabled individuals under the age of 18.
In her speech at the opening, Güliz Kaner, one of the Directors of Kaner Group of Companies and sponsor of the Barrier-Free Living House Project, said that such an important project has been carried out for many years and that it has finally been partially put into service.
Mayor of Değirmenlik-Akıncılar Municipality Ali Karavezirler thanked the Government for showing the will to bring the project to this point.

The Minister of Labour and Social Security Sadık Gardiyanoğlu expressed his happiness at being able to bringing the Barrier-Free Living House Project to the point it has reached today and thanked Prime Minister Ünal Üstel for supporting him in this difficult process.
In 2025, Gardiyanoğlu stated that they will increase the capacity of the facility adding that the facility will be completed in accordance with the project.
Also delivering an opening speech at the event Prime Minister Ünal Üstel said that they will continue to keep their promises to the people and complete all unfinished projects.
Stating that they will finalize all the unfinished projects such as Ercan Airport, Ring Roads and Living Houses, Üstel said, “We did not leave any of our promises in the air, we worked day and night and will continue to work.”
Prime Minister Üstel also touched upon the Cyprus issue in his speech.
Üstel thanked Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who called again for the recognition of the TRNC at the 79th General Assembly of the United Nations.
Üstel said that we will continue our work with the support of Türkiye and emphasized the importance of stability noting that the government will continue to serve the Turkish Cypriot people until 2027.
