The 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Bayrak Radio Television Corporation (BRTK) is being celebrated with various cultural, artistic, and sports activities.
As part of the events, the “20 Moves on July 20” chess tournament is being organized under the auspices of the Republic’s Assembly.
The first leg of the tournament, supported by the 65th Square Chess and Culture Association and Lapta Alsancak Çamlıbel Municipality, took place at the Alsancak Peace and Freedom National Park.
The tournament started with the first move made by Meryem Özkurt, the Director of the Bayrak Radio Television Corporation, and Fırat Ataser, the Mayor of Lapta Alsancak Çamlıbel Municipality.
The final round of the chess tournament will take place today at the “C-1974 Museum Ship.”
The award ceremony for the tournament, which will take place at the Peace and Freedom Monument Area, will be held at 6:30pm and will be broadcast live on BRT 2.
