Beyoğlu Mayor visits Pr. Tatar and other state and government officials

The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is preparing to celebrate the 20th of July Peace and Freedom Day with enthusiasm.

Various events and ceremonies will be held throughout the country to mark its 49th anniversary of establishment.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will be among those taking part in the celebrations.

Meanwhile, guests who will participate in the ceremonies and events have also begun to arrive

Mayor of Istanbul’s Beyoğlu Municipality, Haydar Ali Yıldız, visited President Ersin Tatar and other state and government officials.

Speaking during the meeting, President Tatar highlighted the importance of projects aimed at the future of young people.

Tatar also referred to the significance of the opening of the new terminal building at Ercan Airport.

Tatar stressed that the inauguration ceremony at Ercan would once again demonstrate to the world the close relationship between the Republic of Türkiye and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

As part of his other contacts, Haydar Ali Yıldız was also received by the Speaker of the Parliament Zorlu Töre on Monday.

Pointing out that July 20 was the greatest celebration for the Turkish Cypriot people, Töre said that Cyprus would have suffered the same fate as Crete or the 12 Islands had it not been for the timely intervention of the Turkish Armed Forces.

Mayor Haydar Ali Yıldız was also received by Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu and Minister of Public Works and Transportation Erhan Arıklı.

Istanbul Beyoğlu Mayor Haydar Ali Yıldız, in his speeches during the meetings, expressed their support for the Turkish Cypriot people in its just cause in Cyprus.
