Bayrak Radio Television Corporation (BRT) is set to launch its new broadcasting season on Thursday evening, with a grand event themed “Overcoming Barriers.”
The launch will take place in the front yard of the BRT premises, featuring a wide array of activities to promote inclusivity.
The evening will showcase a special exhibition match featuring the Vakıflar Wheelchair Basketball Team and teams from Fenerbahçe and İskenderun, highlighting the spirit of sportsmanship and community engagement.
Additionally, the popular local group The Native Cypriot will perform a repertoire of traditional Cypriot melodies, providing a cultural experience for attendees.
Furthermore, the event will coincide with the Mustafa Çelik Memorial Tournament, which will see four teams from the Turkish Wheelchair Basketball Super League competing.
The opening match between Vakıflar and Fenerbahçe is scheduled for October 18 at 9:30 AM at the Atatürk Sports Hall and will be broadcast live on BRT 2.
The finals of the Mustafa Çelik Memorial Tournament will take place on October 19 at 5:30 PM, also airing live on BRT 2.
Under a cooperation protocol signed between BRT and the Disabled Sports Federation, all matches played by the Vakıflar Wheelchair Basketball Team in Lefkoşa will be broadcast live throughout the season, further promoting visibility for adaptive sports.
