Bayrak Radio Television Corporation is celebrating the 61st year of its establishment.

Bayrak Radio, which was established 61 years ago, is working with all its strength to make the voice of the Turkish Cypriot people heard around the world in accordance with its mission as a well-established institution.

The anniversary of the establishment of the institution will be celebrated with a public reception to be held on Friday, December 27.

The voice of the Turkish Cypriots, Bayrak Radio Television Corporation is preparing to celebrate its 61st anniversary.

Bayrak Radio started broadcasting 61 years ago, on December 25, 1963, when the Greek Cypriots excluded the Turkish Cypriots from the Republic of Cyprus partnership.

On July 19, 1976, it started to serve as Bayrak Radyo Television with television broadcasts that were commissioned with black and white studio equipment dismantled and brought from Diyarbakır.

Today, Bayrak Radio Television Corporation, which has become a powerful institution broadcasting television broadcasts on 3 channels and radio broadcasts on 6 stations, will celebrate its 61st anniversary this year with the motto “Overcoming Obstacles”.

Within the framework of the 61st founding anniversary events, a public reception will be held on Friday, December 27 at 11.00 at the foyer of the BRTK Broadcasting History Museum.

An event will also be held at 18.00 on the same day for the anniversary of the founding of the institution.

The event, which is being organized under the main sponsorship of the Directorate of the Culture Department with the contributions of the Lefkoşa Municipality, Girne Municipality, Gönyeli-Alayköy Municipality and Korman Construction and under the project coordination of Betül Arslan Akkuş, will take place at the Bellapais Monastery.

Within the framework of the event, “the Flag from the Black and White Years until Today” exhibition will also be opened.

As every year, the Bayrak Radio team will address its listeners in front of the Post Office with live broadcasts on Wednesday, December 25th.
