
The calendar for the June 25 by-elections is continuing.
According to the calendar of the High Electoral Council, Thursday was the last day that voter cards could be distributed for the Parliamentary and Local Organization Bodies by-election.
Election propaganda will end on Saturday June 24 and voters will go to the polls on Sunday, June 25.
A deputy and a muhtar will be elected in the election, in which 210,121 voters will cast their votes at 713 ballot boxes across the country.
National Unity Party (UBP) candidate Ali Başman, Republican Turkish Party (CTP) candidate Sami Özuslu, Democrat Party (DP) candidate Serhan Aktunç, Rebirth Party (YDP) candidate Figen Yaman Lesinger, Independence Road (BY) candidate Umut Ersoy and Çetin Sadeli, Mert Taşkın, Talip Sancar, Nazım Özsever, Meriç Erülkü, Alper Özsakınç and Abdullah Korkmazhan will compete for the parliamentary position.
The name of Social Democrat Party (TDP) candidate Tacan Reynar, whose candidacy was rejected by the Supreme Election Board, will also be on the ballot as per the Election and Public Voting Law, but if he is elected, he will not be considered elected and the next person will be elected.
Citizens can learn their ballot box number and location of the ballot boxes on the official website http://www.mahkemeler.net and http://ysk.mahkemeler.net by clicking on the link “Nerede Oy Kullanacağım” (where will I vote) and entering their ID number.
Voters must have with them their TRNC ID card, Turkish Cypriot Federate State ID card, TRNC police ID card, TRNC passport, Turkish Cypriot Federate State Passport or TRNC driver’s license.
