Türkiye’s Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Serdar Çam and the Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources Dursun Oğuz were in Gazimağusa on Wednesday, inspecting ongoing revamp work being carried out at the Laguna Fishing Shelter.
The two were accompanied by Serkan Kayalar, head of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) which is carrying out the project.
The first two stages of the project were carried out in 2020-21 which saw the construction of piers at the shelter and deepening of the harbours waters.
Drainage pipes for rainwater and circulation were also installed.
The current project which includes landscaping is expected to be completed in April 2023.
