Çam evaluates TRNC contacts to TAK

The Deputy Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism Serdar Çam has said that efforts to further strengthen the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) will continue in the period ahead.

He also said that the new Ercan Airport terminal needs to come into operation without further delay.

Çam was evaluating his contacts in the TRNC to the TAK news agency.

In an interview with the state-run TAK news agency, the Turkish Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Serdar Çam evaluated his contacts in the TRNC.

He said that efforts were underway to further develop the TRNC’s tourism industry which was one of its most important revenue sources.

Çam said that a successful promotional video had been prepared following close collaboration between the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) and Türkiye’s Tourism Development and Promotion Agency.

“We received great feedback from this video in the European market,” Çam added.

He added that the TİKA office which had opened an office in December 2019 will continue to take successful steps in promoting the country’s tourism.

Çam also said that it was important to try new methods of promoting tourism and attracting tourists to the country.

“Our president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Vice President Fuat Oktay, Tourism and Culture Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy are focusing their energy on upgrading the status of the TRNC and increasing its tourism revenues despite the pandemic and the war in Ukraine,” he said.

The Turkish Deputy Tourism Minister also drew attention to the need to open the new Ercan airport terminal as soon as possible without further delay.
