Hüseyin Çavuş, the TRNC Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources, met with a delegation led by İlyas Demirci, President of the Turkish World Engineers and Architects Union, to discuss potential collaborations and strengthen ties between the parties.
The meeting brought together representatives from diverse sectors, including former Turkish Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Akif Özkaldı, officials from the Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Industry, academics, business leaders, engineers, architects, and experts from the Ministry’s related departments.
Key topics discussed included the development of joint projects in the agricultural and engineering fields, technical knowledge sharing, and the sustainable use of natural resources.
Participants emphasized the importance of fostering cooperation between Türkiye and the TRNC, focusing on mutual benefits and sustainability.
Global climate change and its impact on agriculture were central to the discussions. The participants explored strategies for mitigating climate change effects, enhancing sustainable agricultural practices, and managing natural resources efficiently.
Minister Çavuş highlighted the critical role of collaboration with scientists and experts in addressing these challenges, stating, “Reducing the impact of climate change on agriculture and managing natural resources effectively require indispensable cooperation with specialists.”
İlyas Demirci reaffirmed the Union’s commitment to mobilizing resources to strengthen collaboration in agriculture and natural resource management.
The meeting concluded with a consensus to implement joint projects and enhance cooperation between the TRNC and Türkiye.
