Ceremonies will be held throughout the week to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the second phase of the 1974 Turkish Peace Operation.
Celebrations will be held in Serdarlı, Gazimağusa and Lefke, which were liberated during the Second Phase of the operation conducted from the 14 to the 16th of August.
Those who were martyred in mass killings will be commemorated in Taşkent, Muratağa-Sandallar and Atlılar villages.
A commemoration ceremony will also be held in Lefke for the martyrs.

Commemoration ceremonies will be held tomorrow (Wednesday) for the Muratağa-Sandallar and Atlılar Martyrs.
The ceremony at the Muratağa-Sandallar Martyrdom will start at 17.30.
Atlılar Martyrs will be commemorated with a ceremony at the site of the mass grave at 18.00.
The liberation of Serdarlı will be celebrated with a ceremony in front of the Serdarlı Atatürk Bust at 18.30 on the same day.
Taşkent Martyrs will be commemorated on Thursday, August 15.
The liberation of Gazimağusa will be celebrated with two separate ceremonies on Thursday, August 15.
The first ceremony will be held in front of the Victory Monument at 18.00. The second ceremony at the İsmet İnönü Boulevard will start at 18.30.
The commemoration ceremony for the martyrs in Lefke will be held on Friday, August 16 at 18.00 at the Kemal Özalper Martyrdom.
The liberation ceremony at Lefke Atatürk Park will start at 18.45.
