The late leader of the Turkish Cypriot People’s struggle for freedom and existence Dr. Fazıl Küçük was commemorated on the 39th anniversary of his passing.

A ceremony was held at the Dr. Fazıl Küçük mausoleum at Anıttepe on Sunday morning.

The late leader of the Turkish Cypriot people Dr. Fazıl Küçük was commemorated on the 39th anniversary of his death with a ceremony at his mausoleum at Anıttepe.

Wreaths were laid, a minutes silence was observed and flags were raised to the reciting of the national anthem and then lowered to half mast.

President Ersin Tatar signed the special book.

Speaking during the ceremony President Ersin Tatar said that the late Turkish Cypriot leader Dr. Fazıl Küçük played an important part in the Turkish Cypriot peoples struggle for freedom and independence and added that the last words of the Dr. Fazıl Küçük once the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus was founded was “If I were to die I don’t have any regrets”.

“We commemorate him with much respect and we will always remember him” said Tatar.
