Christodoulides expressed his satisfaction with the outcome of the meeting

The Leader of the Greek Cypriot Administration, Nikos Christodoulides, made statements following the completion of the informal 5+1 meeting held in Geneva.

According to a report on “Kathimerini.com.cy,” Christodoulides expressed his satisfaction with the outcome of the meeting, stating that developments were moving in the right direction and that the first significant positive step towards resuming negotiations had been taken.

In his statement, Christodoulides stressed three key points.

First, he mentioned the UN Secretary-General’s decision to appoint a new personal envoy.

Secondly, he stated that during the meeting, they decided to hold another meeting at the end of July to assess the progress made by that time.

Thirdly, referring to a joint letter sent by European Council President Antonio Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to UN Secretary-General António Guterres, Christodoulides stated that he believed this letter defined the EU’s stance on the resolution of the Cyprus issue.
