The mild winter conditions being experienced so far is expected to give way to colder and wet weather late this week, the met office has announced.

Three days of rain is expected starting as of this Wednesday.

The TRNC Meteorology Department has announced that the island will be under the influence of a low pressure and cold front which will bring much needed rain to most parts of the country.

Skies are expected to be cloudy on Wednesday with rain and thunderstorms which will continue until Friday.

Temperatures will drop to 14-17 degrees Celsius for the remainder of the week.

Winds will blow in a Northerly and Easterly direction on Monday and Tuesday switching to Southerly and Westerly for the remainder of the week.
