The 1st of August Communal Resistance Day was celebrated with a variety of events in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

The day marks the 47th anniversary of the establishment of the Cyprus Turkish Security Forces Command (GKK), the 65th anniversary of the establishment of the Turkish Resistance Organization (TMT) and the 452nd anniversary of the conquest of Cyprus by the Ottomans.

The first ceremony in the capital Lefkoşa was held at the Atatürk Monument.

The ceremony started with the Security Forces Command Major General Zorlu Topaloğlu saluting the ceremonial troops.

Wreaths were laid, a minute of silence was observed and the flags were raised to the reciting of the National Anthem.

The second ceremony took place at the Lefkoşa Martyrs Monument.

The ceremony came to an end with Major General Zorlu Topaloğlu signing the special book.

A ceremony was also held at the Cumhuriyet Park in Lefkoşa.
