The 1st meeting of the Türkiye – TRNC Joint Permanent Commission on Labour and Social Security was held on Monday and following the completion of the meeting the protocol signing ceremony was realised.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Minister of Labour and Social Security Hasan Taçoy stated that as a result of the agreement reached within the framework of their talks, an Action Plan that will cover the years 2023-2024 will be put into practice.
“The outcome we have reached is actually a beginning. We will continue the solidarity between the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and Türkiye and we will implement many more collaborations that will have positive effects on peoples’ lives” said Taçoy and added that they will also be discussing ways to assist businesses as well.
“We have now entered a new era in the TRNC. It is our most basic duty to make and implement the regulations that this new era needs. We have the political will to do this. We will always take advantage of being a country with working and producing people. We have not forgotten that production is a duty not only of the private sector but also of the public sector, and we will never ignore this,” said Taçoy, adding that work will not only be directed to the private sector, but that they will also make serious efforts for the public sector to produce and increase their efficiency.
The Turkish Minister of Labour and Social Security Prof. Dr. Vedat Bilgin also said that as Türkiye, they have developed relations with the TRNC in every field, and that they attach great importance to the welfare of the TRNC, the happiness of employees and their peace of mind during their working life.
Bilgin stated that with the protocol working citizens will be able to benefit from their rights to the health system and working life.
“They will walk towards the future together in confidence and peace” said Bilgin.
