Cost of living goes up 3.27 per cent in September

The cost of living for the month of September was announced as 3.27 per cent.

According to the Consumer Price Index figures released by the Statistics Institute, there was a 63.64 per cent change compared to the same month of the previous year, and an 81.22 per cent change compared to December of the previous year.

Among the main expenditure groups, the highest increase compared to the previous month, with a rate of 17.89 per cent, was observed in the education category.

Compared to the previous month, there was an increase in the average price of 87 out of the 518 items covered by the index, while there was a decrease in the average price of 87 items.

The top three items with the highest price increases were red cabbage with a rate of 157.35 per cent, white cabbage with a rate of 93.63 per cent, and the rental fee for a sports pitch with a rate of 87.55 per cent.

The top three items with the highest price decreases were the national lottery with a rate of 40 per cent, okra with a rate of 28.31 per cent, and lemons with a rate of 27.82 per cent.
