Council of Ministers convened twice to discuss search and rescue efforts

The Council of Ministers convened under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Ünal Üstel on Tuesday Morning.

A second meeting was realized in the afternoon, this time chaired by President Ersin Tatar.

Making a statement after the first meeting, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel announced that a minister, experts and volunteer teams will be sent to Adıyaman daily in order to reach the students who are under a collapsed building.

He also noted that a decision was taken to start the necessary work to host people whose houses have been damaged in the earthquake disaster in Türkiye here in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

Meanwhile, President Ersin Tatar issued a statement after the second Council of Ministers meeting that was held in the afternoon.

He said that all teams were working hard and that ministers who are in Türkiye are trying to manage the process as best they can.

“We stand by Türkiye under all circumstances. As the Turkish Cypriot people, we have done and will do whatever is necessary” said Tatar.
