Today December 5th is International Women’s Rights Day, the day Gazi Mustafa Kemal granted Turkish women the right to vote and be elected before all other countries in the world.

The United Nations was able to provide an international treaty in 1952.

December 5th International Women’s Rights Day is celebrated all over the world as a day of struggle and solidarity in which women express their desire to live more humanely.

This meaningful day is an important day for bringing women’s problems to the agenda, raising awareness on this issue and finding solutions.

Celebrated in many countries around the world, Women’s Rights Day is based on Olympe de Gouges’ Declaration of the Rights of Women and Women Citizens in 1791.

In Türkiye, under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Turkish women were granted the right to vote and be elected on December 5, 1934, before all other countries in the world.
