An exhibition titled “Denktaş in London,” dedicated to the life and legacy of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus’ Founding President Rauf R. Denktaş, is set to open on November 16 at the Yunus Emre Institute in London.

Curated by Mine Kar and Cem Kar, the exhibition will feature a selection of 250 photographs from Denktaş’s extensive archive of 50,000 images.

The exhibition will be open to the public from November 16 through November 30, daily from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Previously showcased in various locations across the TRNC and Türkiye, the exhibition offers an intimate glimpse into Denktaş’s life, including never-before-seen photos of his childhood, family, and years of struggle for independence.

Among the collection are his personal reflections on Cyprus’s history, as well as images taken from his own perspective as an avid photographer.

This exhibition holds particular significance, capturing the story of the Turkish Cypriot people’s fight for freedom and independence through the lens of their founding leader.

For those unable to visit in person, a virtual tour of the exhibition is also available at denktassergi.com.
