Deputy PM Ataoğlu delivers opening speech at 1st Istanbul Balkan Tourism Bourse Fair

The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is being represented at the 1st Istanbul Balkan Tourism Bourse Fair within the scope of overseas tourism promotion and marketing activities..

Speaking at the opening of the fair which was realised at the Lütfi Kırdar International Convention and Exhibition Centre, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu announced that they will carry out more promotional activities aimed at Balkan countries.

Stating that there are 60 million people in the Balkan countries, Ataoğlu said that attending this fair is important in terms of drawing more tourism potential from this area to North Cyprus and added that they will increase promotional activities in order to draw more tourists to the TRNC.

Explaining that after Türkiye, European tourists visit the TRNC the most, Ataoğlu said that they are expanding their promotional and marketing activities in order for the Balkan countries in order to increase tourism potential from this area.

Pointing to the importance of the opening of the new airport in terms of the country’s tourism, Ataoğlu said that the new airport, which is built to serve up to 10 million passengers a year, is six times larger than the old airport and that large-bodied planes can now land at this airport.

The 1st Istanbul Balkan Tourism Bourse Fair, which will last for 3 days, is open to tourism professionals and visitors.
