Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu made a statement in regards to the heinous attack against President Ersin Tatar, who was in the UK.

Ataoğlu said, “Greek Cypriots continue to increase the tension.”

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu issued a written statement upon hearing of the attack against President Ersin Tatar in London.

“The verbal attack by Greek Cypriot and Greek students against President Ersin Tatar who went to London Kings College to give a conference on the Cyprus issue is disrespectful and impertinent,” said Ataoğlu.

Noting that it is clear that there will be no agreement on the basis of a bi-communal federation, Ataoğlu said, “We will continue to walk confidently towards a two-state solution”.

Adding that the Greek Cypriots continue to increase the tension, Ataoğlu said that they will closely follow and see the stance the Greek Cypriot side will adopt in the face of the latest actions.
