Devlet Bahçeli re-elected as MHP leader

The 14th Ordinary General Assembly of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) was held at the Ankara Sports Hall.

Devlet Bahçeli, who entered the convention as the only candidate, was re-elected as the leader of the MHP.

State and government officials in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) have all issued congratulatory messages to the newly re-elected leader of the MHP Devlet Bahçeli.

President Ersin Tatar in his message congratulated the MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli who has been re-elected for the 11th time as the party leader.

“I sincerely believe that Devlet Bahçeli, who is one of the greatest supporters of the just cause of the Turkish Cypriots, will continue to contribute to the future of the Turkish nation in every possible way in the period ahead as leader of the MHP,” said Tatar.

Parliamentary Speaker Zorlu Töre in his message congratulated Devlet Bahçeli by saying that they have always been pleased that the MHP, one of the most important actors of Türkiye’s political life, has supported the cause of the Turkish Cypriot people under all circumstances and conditions.

“We firmly believe that this determination will continue to increase with the new term of Bahçeli, who defends the unity and solidarity of the Turkish world and shares the same beliefs and ideas in our Red Apple ideal” said Töre.

Prime Minister Ünal Üstel also congratulated the MHP leader on his re-election by saying “We have no doubt that the historical sensitivity of the MHP and Devlet Bahçeli regarding the fundamental rights and freedoms of the TRNC and the Turkish Cypriot People will continue in the new period”.
