As the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is preparing to celebrate the 20th of July Peace and Freedom Day, the Department of Civil Aviation has announced that all drone flights and aerial sports activities are banned from July 17-20.

The Department of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation announced with a NOTAM that all drone flights and air sports, except for those who receive special permits, are banned from 5:45AM on Wednesday, July 17 until 7:59 PM on Saturday, July 20.

The department released the following statement: “Due to the show to be performed by the Turkish Stars within the framework of the July 20 Peace and Freedom Day celebrations, all drone flights and air sports, except for special permits granted, are prohibited from taking place between 5:45 AM on Wednesday, July 17 until 7:59 PM on Saturday, July 20. This ban has been announced to aviators with a NOTAM.”
