Earthquake Audit Committee meets

The Earthquake Audit Committee established within the Prime Ministry continues to carry out its work on the construction of new earthquake resistant schools.

Undersecretary of the Prime Ministry and Chairman of the Earthquake Audit Committee Hüseyin Cahitoğlu announced that projects for 46 of the 124 schools whose earthquake resistance tests have been completed have been given approval, while 41 schools have reached the tender stage.

The Earthquake Audit Committee established within the Prime Ministry convened and following the meeting, the Chairman of the Earthquake Audit Committee, Prime Ministry Undersecretary Hüseyin Cahitoğlu gave information about the work carried out so far.

Cahitoğlu stated that the projects of 46 of the 124 schools where earthquake resilience tests have been completed have been given approval, while 41 schools have reached the tender stage.

Stating that a total of 1,385 tests were carried out in 746 buildings, large and small, belonging to 124 schools, Cahitoğlu said that the project files have been given approval and submitted to the committee and that the decision regarding the files will be made by the committee.
