Earthquake Committee in Ankara

The Ad Hoc and Special Committee of the Republic’s Assembly formed with the aim of monitoring the legal and judicial process in Türkiye regarding the earthquake is holding contacts in the Turkish capital Ankara.

Within the framework of its contacts, the committee members met with the Turkish Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç.

The members of the Parliamentary Ad-Hoc and Special Committee tasked with following up on the legal and judicial process regarding the investigation into the collapse of the Isias Hotel in the February 6 earthquake in Türkiye were received by the Turkish Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç on Monday.

Issuing a statement, Committee Chairman National Unity Party MP Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu said that they were pleased that the Turkish Minister of Justice was sensitive to the earthquake-related investigations and was closely following the process.

Stating that they have full confidence in the judiciary of the courts of the Republic of Türkiye, Hasipoğlu said that their only goal is to fulfil their duties and responsibilities towards the people and to ensure that justice is administered on time and in accordance with the laws.

The delegation also met with the Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya.

After completing their contacts in Ankara, the Parliamentary Committee will hold further meetings in Adıyaman and Hatay provinces where TRNC citizens lost their lives.
