An earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale struck the Paphos sea area overnight, according to Türkiye’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority on Wednesday.

The earthquake occurred at 12.29am, with a focal depth of 12.2km, 17.6km off the southwest coast of Paphos.

The quake was felt lightly across the island.

No damages or injuries have been reported.
