Energy on the agenda

Prime Minister Ünal Üstel on Wednesday received a delegation from the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce (KTTO) who is briefing state and government officials on energy production and alternative options in the TRNC.

The delegation presented the prime minister with a report prepared by the chamber.

The Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce presented Prime Minister Ünal Üstel on Wednesday with its report on “Current Electricity Production and Interconnectivity Options in the TRNC” prepared by its experts.

Speaking during the visit, Prime Minister Üstel thanked the officials for their work and technical information provided.

He said it was necessary to create a National Energy Vision in order to achieve secure and sustainable energy in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) with the participation of experts, non-governmental organizations and all stakeholders.

He added that all the necessary steps will be taken as soon as possible to solve the country’s energy shortages once and for all.
