Erdoğan and Oktay make statement

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Turkish officials have begun visiting the regions affected by the earthquakes in Türkiye.

Turkish President Erdoğan carried out inspections in  the Hatay region that was affected by the earthquakes.

Making a brief statement to the press after his visit to the Hatay region Erdoğan said that the state and the people will work together and remove the ruins caused by the disaster.

“No citizen will be left alone” said Erdoğan.

Meanwhile Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay, Turkish Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Bilgin, Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and Turkish Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank made statements regarding the earthquakes at the AFAD Coordination Center.

Oktay said that 103,800 officers are on duty in the regions affected by the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes.

Stating that the number of aftershocks is currently around 790, Oktay said that 3 of them were recorded at a magnitude of 6, and 24 of them with a magnitude of 5 and above.
