Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said that they will continue to fight side by side with the Turkish Cypriot people, who are an inseparable part of the Turkish nation.

“We will never allow the rights of our country or of that of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) to be usurped,” Erdoğan said.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech after a cabinet Meeting at the Turkish Presidential Complex and made statements regarding his visit to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

Stating that foreign policy is at the forefront of the areas where Türkiye has changed the status quo, Erdoğan said that during their government’s term they turned an introverted country into a “game-maker” and “game-changer” when necessary.

Explaining that he had received a warm welcome from Turkish Cypriots at Ercan airport, the Turkish President said “they showed us that our election victory is the victory of the Turkish Cypriot people as well. During our meetings with TRNC President Ersin Tatar, we openly expressed our strong support for the Cyprus cause”.

He said that they shared their red lines for the upcoming period with the international community and will continue their struggle side by side with the Turkish Cypriot people, who constitute an inseparable part of the Turkish nation.

“We will take all the necessary legal, economic and political steps to deepen the integration between the ‘motherland’ and the ‘foster land’. We will never allow the rights of neither our country nor the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to be usurped,” said Erdoğan.
