Erhürman: No common ground for comprehensive solution

Republican Turkish Party (CTP) Leader Tufan Erhürman spoke live on BRT ahead of the informal Cyprus summit in Geneva, expressing skepticism about the possibility of a decision to launch formal negotiations.

He noted that, given the current circumstances, such an outcome appeared unlikely.

“There is no common ground between the parties for a comprehensive solution to the Cyprus issue,” Erhürman stated, pointing to the deep-rooted differences that continue to hinder progress.

However, he stressed the importance of ensuring that the two leaders focus on confidence-building measures, which could help foster a more constructive atmosphere for future discussions.

Emphasizing the need for small but meaningful steps, Erhürman suggested that efforts to build trust between the sides could contribute to a more favorable climate for a potential resolution in the long run.
