40,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines were handed over to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus on Wednesday.
The vaccines were delivered from the UN authorities at the Metehan border.
According to information given by the co-chair of the Bi-communal Technical Committee on Health Cenk Soydan, the latest shipment brings the total number of COVID-19 vaccines delivered by the EU to the TRNC to 158,850.
In total 21,050 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech, 108,700 doses of AstraZeneca and 29,000 doses of the Johnson&Johnson vaccines have been delivered by the EU.
Turkey on the other hand, has sent a total of 350,530 doses of vaccines to date.
Cenk Soydan said that more vaccines are expected in the coming weeks.
