Within the scope of the Local Infrastructure Services project funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), multi-purpose sports facilities were installed in two schools in Lefkoşa and one in Girne.
These facilities aim to strengthen the educational infrastructure and support development in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
As part of the Local Infrastructure Services Project funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme, two schools in Lefkoşa and one in Girne have received multi-purpose sports facilities.
These facilities were awarded to the winning schools of the “Further with Science” laboratory competition organized by EU Infopoint.
The aim of these facilities is to strengthen the educational infrastructure and support development in the TRNC.
The winning schools in the competition were Türk Maarif College, Oğuz Veli Secondary School, Atatürk Vocational High School, and Serhatköy Primary School.
The facilities in the first three schools have been completed and opened for use, while the facilities for Serhatköy Primary School are still under construction.
The facilities include Futsal goals, basketball and volleyball poles and sports-appropriate flooring.
The total investment cost for the three completed schools is around 50 thousand Euros.
