EU Summit final declaration

At the ongoing European Union Leaders summit in Brussels, the final declaration on Türkiye was announced.

Cyprus was also given room in the declaration.

The final declaration issued by the European Union Summit stated that the European Union has a strategic interest in a stable and secure environment in the Eastern Mediterranean and in developing a cooperative and mutually beneficial relationship with Türkiye.

The declaration also noted that the European Union attaches great importance to the resumption and progress of the Cyprus negotiations, which could also enhance cooperation with Türkiye.

“The EU stands ready to play an active role in supporting all stages of the UN-led process with all appropriate means at its disposal,” the statement said, emphasizing the EU’s commitment to the process under the auspices of the United Nations to resolve the issue.
