Extraordinary meeting at the prime ministry

An extraordinary meeting chaired by Prime Minister Ünal Üstel was realised at the Prime Ministry on Wednesday.

Alternative education models and support for university students living in the earthquake zone and studying in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) were discussed during the meeting.

An extraordinary meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Ünal Üstel at the prime ministry on Wednesday and the Turkish Ambassador to Lefkoşa Metin Feyzioğlu, Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Finance Alişan Şan, President of YÖDAK Turgay Avcı and rectors from 21 universities in the TRNC all attended the meeting.

During the meeting, discussions focused on ways the students who have lost first degree relatives, families, homes and sources of income can be supported.

It was announced that the “Special Earthquake Support Package” will be announced for the students after all preparations have been completed.
