Date Added: 30 May 2024

Ferry services from Anamur to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) are set to commence in June, announced Mersin’s Governor Ali Hamza Pehlivan during a press conference at Anamur Pier on Thursday.

Governor Pehlivan, accompanied by other officials, inspected the ongoing “Pier Project” at the site. He highlighted that Anamur is the closest mainland point to the TRNC in the Mediterranean.

“In June, ferry services from this pier to the TRNC will begin,” Pehlivan stated.

“The company here has leased a ferry with a capacity of 450 passengers.

Starting in June, passengers will be able to travel from here to the Port of Girne in the TRNC in just 1.5 hours.”

The new ferry service is expected to enhance connectivity and provide a quick and convenient travel option between Anamur and the TRNC, further strengthening ties between the two countries.
