Turkish Ambassador to Lefkoşa Metin Feyzioğlu paid a visit to Gazimağusa Mayor Süleyman Uluçay on Wednesday to express his condolences.
During the visit Ambassador Feyzioğlu touched upon the criminal investigation on the Isias Hotel and said that they were following the developments very closely.
“We want those responsible to be identified and to receive the severest punishment,” said Feyzioğlu.
According to the press release from the Gazimağusa Municipality, the Turkish Ambassador to Lefkoşa Metin Feyzioğlu paid a visit to Gazimağusa Mayor Süleyman Uluçay on Wednesday to express his condolences.
Speaking during the visit the Gazimağusa Mayor Süleyman Uluçay stated that the earthquake disaster was a great trauma for both the families of the victims and the people of the city.
He thanked Ambassador Feyzioğlu for the Turkish government’s support throughout the process.
Türkiye’s Ambassador to Lefkoşa Metin Feyzioğlu for his part said that he had been involved in the crisis management of the earthquake disaster from the very first moment the quake struck.
Noting that the first arrests were made regarding the investigation launched on Isias Hotel in Adıyaman, and that the samples from the rubble had been collected, Feyzioğlu stated that the Adıyaman Chief Prosecutor was personally involved in the case.
Giving further information regarding the investigation taking place, Feyzioğlu said that the TRNC government was being informed of all the developments taking place.
Making a statement regarding the confidentiality decision, Ambassador Feyzioğlu said that every step being taken in regards to the Isias hotel case is legal and no one has the right to disturb the families with unfounded news or information.
