Finance Minister Berova holds a variety of contacts in Ankara

Minister of Finance Özdemir Berova is continuing his contacts in the Turkish capital Ankara.

Within the framework of his contacts, Berova met with the Turkish Minister of Commerce Ömer Bolat.

Earlier on Wednesday, the TRNC Finance Minister was received by Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz and met with the Governor of the Central Bank of Türkiye Hafize Gaye Erkan.

In a post on social media, the Turkish Minister said that they had discussed the process of automation of the ports and customs as well prospects of increasing trade and commerce between their respective countries.

The Turkish Minister of Commerce Ömer Bolat said that they will continue to work towards improving bilateral economic and trade relations between Türkiye and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Finance Minister Özdemir Berova who had embarked on his contacts in Ankara on Wednesday by visiting Anıtkabir, the mausoleum of the great Turkish leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was later received by Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz.

He also met met with the President of the Central Bank of Türkiye Hafize Gaye Erkan.

Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance Burak Şoföroğlu, TRNC Central Bank Governor Rifat Günay and other officials accompanied Berova during the meeting.

Minister Berova also attended an exhibition and workshop titled “From Yesterday to Today: Painters of the TRNC, Altındağ Workshop and Exhibition” in Ankara.

He then took part in a sapling planting event held in memory of the 49 Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) citizens who lost their lives in the February 6 earthquakes.

As part of his contacts in Ankara, Berova is also expected to meet with Türkiye’s Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek before moving onto Mersin where we he will be inspecting operations at the Mersin International Port.

After completing his Ankara contacts, Berova will move on to Mersin and carry out an inspection at the Mersin International Port.
