A live-firing exercise is scheduled to take place at the Çamurova shooting range, located in the Güzelyurt region, between October 28 and November 1.
During these dates, access to the area will be restricted for safety reasons, it was announced on Monday.
Güzelyurt District Officer Savaş Orakçıoğlu announced that the exercise will involve the use of air defence weapons targeting ground-based objectives.
The firing exercises will take place daily between 8 AM and 6 PM.
According to Orakçıoğlu’s statement, access to several areas around the range, including the Kum Tepe to Başak area, the Kumköy Helicopter Landing Pad-Yayla area, the Başak-Yayla area, and the Kum Tepe-Kumköy Helicopter Landing Pad line, will be strictly prohibited.
This measure is taken to ensure the safety of life and property.
He emphasized that the region will be designated as a “restricted zone” during the specified days and times, and no entry will be permitted until further notice allows for free access.
