Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu participated in the 40th Ministerial Meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC) held in Istanbul.

During the event, hosted at the Lütfi Kırdar Congress Centre, Ertuğruloğlu delivered a speech and engaged in a bilateral meeting with Türkiye’s Minister of Trade, Ömer Bolat.

The high-level meeting, inaugurated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, brought together ministers from OIC member states as well as representatives from relevant OIC institutions and international organizations.

The session centred around the theme “Digital Transformation of Payment Systems in OIC Member Countries.”

In his address, Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu highlighted the TRNC government’s ongoing focus on digitizing payment systems across multiple sectors.

He noted that digital transformation in this area remains a developing priority, with relevant legislation undergoing updates to support the initiative.

Ertuğruloğlu was accompanied by Deputy Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy and Energy, Tuğşat Tülbentçi.
