Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu has said that the UK should sooner if not later fulfil its responsibilities towards the Turkish Cypriot people.

Ertuğruloğlu’s words came during a visit paid to him on Wednesday by the visiting delegation of British MPs.

According to a statement issued by the ministry’s press bureau, Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu briefed the visiting parliamentarians from the British House of Lords and Commons on the Turkish Cypriot side’s vision for a two-state solution.

He said that the international community must take concrete steps to lift the embargoes imposed on the Turkish Cypriot people and to end the TRNC’s international isolation.

The foreign minister said that London should fulfil its responsibilities towards the Turkish Cypriot people.

The delegation is made up of British MPs Paul Bristow, Stephen Metcalfe, Brendan Clarke Smith and Lord Rogan as well as former parliamentarian Baroness Blackstone.
