The Turkish Agency Cyprus (Türk Ajansı Kıbrıs) is celebrating 50 years of accurate and reliable reporting.

Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu visited the agency on Thursday as part of events marking the agency’s 50th anniversary.

Ertuğruloğlu, who was greeted by TAK Director Fehmi Gürdallı, Board Member Züleyha Karaman, and members of the staff, participated in cutting the 50th-anniversary cake and took part in a group photo with TAK employees.

Speaking at the event, the TRNC foreign minister expressed gratitude to TAK employees for their dedicated work.

“Our hope and efforts are for you to enter your second 50 years under better working conditions,” he said.

Ertuğruloğlu emphasized that TAK is not a private but an official state agency, and it should always demonstrate a stance in favour of the state.

He mentioned that he didn’t visit TAK frequently, attributing this to the need to avoid comments such as “interfering with TAK” by certain groups.

The foreign minister was also briefed by TAK Director Fehmi Gürdallı on the agency’s activities and the renovated building with contributions from the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA).
