Work on the road project between Yiğitler and Pile is continuing.

While the work initiated to end the difficulties experienced by Turkish Cypriots living in the mixed village of Pile is continuing, Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu made a statement regarding the Pile-Yiğitler road.

Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu evaluated the developments taking place at the Yiğitler-Pile road.

He said that the road will be completed despite all the false news that has emerged regarding the issue.

Pointing out that the UN officials’ contacts with the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) authorities continue, Ertuğruloğlu announced that they have met with UN Special Representative Colin Stewart.

Meanwhile Beyarmudu Mayor Bülent Bebek also evaluated the Yiğitler-Pile road works to BRT.

Bebek stated that the road construction work is a humanitarian necessity for those living in the region and emphasized that there will be no step back regarding the course of this work.

He stated that the construction of the road in question has been waiting for over 20 years and that the people of the region will be relieved once the problem is solved.
