Free postal services to those who want to send aid to Türkiye

The Post Office has announced that free postal service will be provided to those who want to send individual aid to earthquake victims in Türkiye from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) as of today.

Within the framework of cooperation between the Post Office that operates under the authority of the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation, and the Posta and Telegraf Agency PTT of Türkiye free postal service will be provided from the TRNC to those who want to send individual aid packages to earthquake victims in Türkiye as of Thursday.

Post Office Director Yusuf Örs stated that citizens will be able to post aid packages free of charge within the working hours from the Lefkoşa Küçük Kaymaklı Post Office, the Girne Central Post Office and the Gazimağusa Central Post Office.

“We ask people to pay attention to the fact that the parcels they will send should include new items specified in the needs list” said Örs.

He stated that the address to be placed on the packages should be as follows. “DEPREM YARDIM Ankara Valiliği, Sosyal Yardımlaşma ve Dayanışma Vakfı, ANKARA/TÜRKİYE”.

The materials to be accepted and delivered to those in need are as follows:

Electric heaters, new and unused women’s, men’s and children’s winter clothing, nappies, personal hygiene materials, baby food, portable chargers, duvets, pillows, blankets, sleeping bags, kettles, hand warmers, tea, coffee, canned food, dry goods, pots and pans, disposable plates, cups forks and spoons.
