Gardiyanoğlu receives Göktaş

Turkish Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş met with her Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus counterpart Sadık Gardiyanoğlu.

During the visit the two ministers noted that they will continue to cooperate and share experiences in the field of social services and put their signatures on new projects.

Gardiyanoğlu stated that the work of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan as well as Minister Mahinur Göktaş is a guide for them.

Gardiyanoğlu, who conveyed the work they have done in the field of Social Services since the first day he took office, stated that they brought the Life Care Home in Kalkanlı from a bad and idle state to the status of a 5-star hotel, and that the Down Cafe in the Gazimağusa İrfan Nadir Rehabilitation Centre for Over 18s will be opened soon.

“The Demirhan Barrier-Free Living Home and Rehabilitation Center is a unique facility not only in the TRNC but also on the island. You are our biggest guide here,” he said.

Turkish Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş for her part  noted that with the opening of the care home, a very important centre where children can grow up safely, peacefully and under the protection of the state will come to life.

She emphasized that they accepted 2025 as the year of the family and implemented an action plan that puts the family at the centre.

“Our family is our future. Today, the concept of family is under serious threat and risk. We have accelerated our efforts to strengthen families with all their members,” said Göktaş.

She stated that they will continue their efforts to share their knowledge and experience and to assist every citizen in need as a social state in the coming period.
